Two hearts in turmoil.
Hi, my name is Jaslo Emmonon and I'm a debut author. I have been writing since I was in junior high, but I never expected to be an author. Instead, I became a teacher, a coach, a Boy Scout leader and a traveler. Everything changed in January 2017 when the United States Marine Corps invited me to attend a weeklong leadership training in Parris Island, South Carolina. Slowly, my story developed during that week.
Then came the pandemic. During the lockdown, I wrote about all of my travels that have taken me to all fifty states and five countries. However, my time with the Marines continued to occupy my thoughts. When the world reopened, I went to a Barnes and Noble one Saturday afternoon and found a book of creative writing prompts on the clearance table. A prompt offered, "A piano player in a piano bar meets a woman with an unusual request." I bought the book, went home, sat with a pen and a legal pad. Ten long-hand pages later, my first chapter was born.

Life is funny. I never intended to write romance. The things I learned about the Marine Corps way and the special fraternity its members past and present have, gave me the idea that my main character would help a broken woman, teaching her his Marine Corps principles. Together they fall in love, but have to find a way to overcome their own broken pasts.
